Tortuga Reef
Sloping coral grove with small ridge 20m +/-2 is best
Swift current and great visibility.
This reef is aptly named Tortugas for the many turtles that live here amongst the coral, sponges and greenery. This huge grove slopes from 15m to around 45m at the edge of the cantil wall, which drops off to the abyss of the channel between the Yucatan and Cozumel. Keep your eyes open for huge parrot fish, cubera snapper and tarpon in season.
